H-GAC Transportation Policy Council (TPC): May 28th & June 25th
Next TPC Meetings:
The topic of the next two meetings is the 2025 Regional Transportation Plan,
with the final vote expected on June 25th. The TPC accepts public comment at the beginning of each meeting.

and we encourage all to review and comment on this important Plan (www.2025plan.org).

City Council Committee Meeting on RTP: May 24th
On May 24th at 10:00 am in Council chambers, the Transportation Infrastructure and
Aviation Committee meeting will also address the 2025 Plan and public comments will be accepted.

City Council Budget Workshops: May 25th – June 10th
Mayor White is expected to announce his budget on May 19th.
Councilmember Ellis’ Fiscal Affairs and Management Committee will hold hearings to
discuss the budget department by department from May 24th – June 10th (Meetings are open to the public).
for time and place of 22 scheduled meetings or contact Councilmember Ellis at 713-247-2014 or
City Council will hold its first public budget hearing on June 15th at 1:30 pm in Council Chambers.
Community Meetings for LARA (Land Assembly Redevelopment Authority): June 12 and 26th
The LARA Board is preparing an Urban Redevelopment Plan, tentatively scheduled to be completed by July 19th.
Two public community workshops will be held:
- June 12th, 8:30 am – noon at Finnegan Park , 4900 Providence
- June 26th, 8:30 am – noon at Judson Robinson Jr Park, 2020 Hermann Drive
New Health Director Appointed
Health care was #7 in the top 10 goals ranked at the Citizens’ Congress.
On April 19th, Mayor White appointed Stephen L. Williams to be the new Director of the City of
Houston Health & Human Services Department. Until now he has been the Executive Manager of a
system that combines the health & human services of the City Austin and Travis County.

Municipal Channel Airs City Council Meetings
City Council meetings as well as Council Committee meetings can be seen on the Municipal Channel (Channel 16).
City Council meetings are covered live every Wednesday at 9:00 am. And replayed every Thursday at 7:00 pm,
and every Saturday at 12:00 am, 6:00 am, noon and 6:00 pm.
The public speaking sessions are carried live every Tuesday at 2:00 pm and repeated with the Council
meetings at the above times.
